Actually, that is not true. Amazon pays 35% royalties for ebooks that are priced at less than $2.99 and 70% for ebooks that are priced above $2.99 and that has nothing whatsoever to do with exclusivity. As for paperbacks, Amazon pays best of all options (60%) and the cost of print is by far the most affordable. So either you don’t know what you are talking about or have a hidden agenda.
